Our Lady of Lourdes Oratory, also known fondly as “Karen’s Chapel”

These images depict the glory of God in nature throughout the seasons, with the beloved chapel as a peaceful centerpiece.

Karen loved to go to church and pray. She prayed for everybody and people would ask her for specific prayer requests. Her prayers gave her strength in the darkest moments and made her joy complete in the happy moments of life. She had complete trust knowing that the One she went to worship is omnipotent, attentive, and all loving.

After 36 years of marriage and unwavering love “as strong as death” Dr. D. had a chapel built in honor of the woman he loved as his wife. This chapel is a place of prayer and peace. Friends, family, and visitors from all over the world have stopped in this peaceful place to share a moment of prayer. Animals wander quietly around the field. Every once and a while an eagle can be seen flying in circles over the chapel.
