Meet Dr. D.
Dr. Joseph Dutkowsky lives in rural upstate New York. He is a retired pediatric orthopedic surgeon. In his 40 plus years of professional practice as a physician he discovered the hand of divine love, healing, and providence through the stories of his patients, their families, and his own experience at the bedside of many. The Perfectly Human movement flows from his personal reflections on the people he served in his medical career and a desire to make the world a more positive, loving place for people of all abilities, their families, and the global community. Dr. D. continues his work by sharing his message in his books, the New York City ballet workshops, Major League Baseball clinics, scientific research, and speaking engagements.
Meet Karen Lynn
“First Lady”
Karen Lynn was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Her Christian faith grew early on. She recalled meeting the Holy Spirit during her baptism in the Mississippi River. Her encounter there, lead her to a life of prayer and seeking to do His will. Karen had a heart for others. If someone needed help, she was there to either pray with them or assist materially. Her sense of self and love for God was expressed in the way she cared for others. She ran a bible study named “Sisters in Christ” for over thirty years. The women there walked together in faith, studied scripture, and gathered to pray each week. As a wife and mother, she faithfully served her family at home and in the community.
One of her gifts was gardening. Throughout the property she grew numerous flowers, vegetables, and trees. Each garden bed yielding a different gift from the earth.
Her journey of faith became international when after converting to Catholicism she traveled to Rome with her husband and children. Her international travels continued to Lourdes, France where she would serve pilgrims in the bathes, Peru where she served alongside Dr. D., and other pilgrimages made throughout Europe.
In her professional life she was a teacher of the blind and visually impaired. Her skills served many students and communities in rural central New York. She illuminated the connection between cortical visual impairment and cerebral palsy at the AACPM.
When Karen became a Dame of Malta, she took her promises seriously. She founded the Pilgrimage for Life for the American Association Order of Malta. Karen was patient, steadfast, and unwavering in her faith. After her death Dr. D. built a chapel in her honor. It is no question that with her beautiful chapel she is still ministering to people even after her death. The chapel is a witness to steadfast love and faithfulness in marriage. Her legacy of love lives on.
